CPAWS has been working since 2001 to create an effective network of protected areas in Quebec. We believe in creating large protected areas where wilderness and wilderness lovers can coexist in the absence of industrial activity. These large protected areas can ensure both the future of biodiversity and the diversification of local economies, while allowing cultural and social well-being. CPAWS dreams of a country where at least half the public land and water is set aside to allow for nature to live freely, without human interference.
